Hi BridgeGirl I can’t seem to find the daily diary 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve typed it in here but I can’t follow it or make a post.... I’m still trying to figure this forum out lol 😂
You won't be making a post, you'll be replying to the host

Yes I’m calorie counting . Trying to stick to 1400 a day 🌸
Hi, yes to calorie counting - I’ve been doing it since July 2019, so over a year now 😊 my daily limit is 1450. But I also look at nutrients and what I eat, not only the calorie value. Plus I’m restricting my eating window to 8 hours a day. 2 stone is a lot, it’s probably better not look at the 7 remaining - big numbers can be daunting, better to simply look at the next one. There’s no rush, your heath is already improving and you must feel the difference. All the best to you.
I calorie count and use a app called lose it. I’ve managed to lose 36 kg using this method so does work. Anything I can do help get in touch
Well done that’s amazing 🙌🏻 I also use that app too it’s great isn’t it.... and thank you so much ☺️
Yes I calorie count but obviously depends what the calories are . I found Myfitnesspal helped as I wanted healthy food and found that odd can of low cal soup I had for convenience was laden with either sugar , salt or both .I eat a lot of salad , veg , chicken , fish and have porridge made with water every morning but also like the odd glass or wine , one biscuit and I love lentil curls and pea stick from Lidl which I dip into cottage cheese instead of rice cakes for a change .
I have managed to keep off the 18kg I lost between Jan 2018-2019 by sensible balance but calories worked for me as I love food and variety. No bans on anything and I hate the word diet.
Hi Katie Louise You have already done amazingly so keep going! Yes, I am calorie counting too, trying to keep within 1200-1300 per day. I have only done 1 week but lost 2 pounds and 1 inch. Small start but right direction! I had one bad day and didn't do quite as much exercise as I wanted so it could be better.... Onwards, and downwards!
Hi - I've been calorie counting for a year - lost 25kgs - Another year to go (or more).
Just have to keep going. I'm not an accurate counter but I know what makes a good meal after all this time.
Yes - I had to calculate a sensible loss rate and it worked out that 2 years was the earliest I could get down to anywhere near my target (around 100kg). P.S. I'm an old bloke of 66 so it ain't easy.
Hi Katielouise456 , I've been calorie counting for 4 months now and have lost 4.5st. Also using the LoseIt! app. I aim for 1700 a day (but I'm a guy) and have found intermittent fasting (only eating in an 8 hour window each day) really effective.
My initial goal was to loose 7st - and it felt a long way off at the start! But now that I'm past half way I'm starting to think about a new big goal. I've found acknowledging milestones really important - every stone or half stone lost, and every time I've dropped a "big" number on the scales like going from 19st into the 18s.
Good luck on your journey, sounds like you've been doing great.
Amazing ☺️ well done that’s fantastic 🙌🏻 keep up the good work ☺️ it’s not easy by any means but I’m happy as long as I see a loss I know I won’t see a loss every week but as long as I’m trying my best that’s all I can do.... I’ve got health conditions too so it makes it hard for me to exercise so it’s purely down to food with me.... good luck on the rest of your journey ☺️
I'm doing a mixture of calorie counting and LCHF (low carb, healthy fat) and it's (mostly) working for me. I log everything in MyFitnesspal, target is 1950 cals/day (male, reasonably active), and I too have found that posting in the Daily Diary gives me an incentive to stick to plan.
One thing I have found - beware of too much fruit - full of sugar! I stick mainly to berries and the occasional apple now.
Hi, would you like to join us on the Daily Diary and post your menu for tomorrow? Here's the link, I hope to see you there! x
Hi - Well done on your amazing loss so far. Break your future loss into small increments and aim for individual targets and milestones. And don't get downhearted when things slow down a bit - as they're bound to do once in a while.
Calorie counting is the only thing that's ever worked for me. My weight has yo-yo'd for over 50 years, from losing half a stone or so in my 20s and increasing as the years have gone by - the most I've ever lost is 3 stone. Sadly I'm not good at maintaining, so 3 years on from that 3 stone loss I'm now part way through losing 2 stone that I gained!
I'm currently on about 1250 cals a day, allowing for a good dog walk - 1-2 lbs loss pw, with an overall loss so far since mid August of 10lbs.
I use a programme that counts calories but like many that are out there, it also works out your nutritional intake. I stick as closely as I can to 20% protein, 30% fat and 50% carbohydrate. And you can log your exercise to "buy" extra calorie allowance. You need to eat most of your exercise calories, and the secret is to plan, plan plan!
Good luck - continue as you've been doing and we'll look out for your progress in future posts. And share when you're feeling down - plenty of others to help you along and perk you up.
Thank you ☺️ that’s what I’m doing I’m concentrating on half a stone each time that way it doesn’t seem so daunting.... my weight is always up and down too I’ve been dieting since I was 13 I’m now 32 that’s a long time 😫 but I’m hoping this is the last time 🤞🏻 well done on your loss so far be proud of every pound you lose like you say even if it’s just 1-2lb per week that’s a sustainable loss.... good luck to you too ☺️
Well done Katielouise456 - you have done amazingly well! I count my calories most of the time. i tend to use apps although i confess i get very annoyed with them as i have yet to find one which allows me to create my own recipes (and portion size) and also scan more ready made meals. personally i prefer to follow my protein, fat and carb levels too to make sure my calories are not too carb based.
Hi Timetobeheathy and welcome to the weight loss forum.. May I suggest that you follow all the links you've been sent in your welcome package It's best to use the website as opposed to the app.
I hope you join the Daily Diary, there's lots of delicious ideas there. When you have decided your “weigh in day”, join one of the weekly weigh ins.
If you are counting calories please run your data through the NHS site, to calculate your BMI and with that obtain your calorie allowance.
