Something I didn't know

I've lately been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma following an infection I had before Christmas. Luckily it's curable, but what with MRI, CT and PET scans I found out something I never knew before - cancer cells feed on sugar. That's the cream slices cut out then! Back to the Keto.

Welcome back, Goodnessknows :)

Sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis, I hope that it can be dealt with swiftly.

Sugar has an awful lot to answer for! You may also wish to join the LCHF forum healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet

As a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi Goodnessknows!

Just responding to send you best wishes for your speedy treatment and recuperation.

I had also heard about the effect of sugar on certain cancer cells. All rather frightening really. I see that moreless has given you the link to the LCHF forum. Perhaps we'll see you over there?

Best wishes :-)

Hello Goodnessknows,

They say every day is a school day and I have learnt something new today from your post...if ever there was motivation to reduce sugar intake that's got to be it.

Hope your treatment goes well and that you enjoy a speedy recovery 🙂

Thank you to everyone for their good wishes. I went on the kept diet when I was diagnosed pre diabetes and kicked it back very swiftly. This only came along just before Christmas. Out came my tonsil which is fine when you're seven but excruciating when you're over seventy!

Thank you. As I've already said, I did the Keto diet when I was diagnosed pre diabetic and got rid of it in no time plus twenty pounds. It's crept up a bit what with Covid etc., but I'm getting back on track. Admit to eating comfort food when I had my tonsillectomy. The treatment is ongoing and I'm assured a cure! Apparently it's one of those that is curable.
