Hi, this is the first time I've joined anything like this, I've been a member of sw for a while now, however I feel like it's no longer working, I find myself eating the same things over and over with little to show for it, so I've stopped going to group. I've never calorie counted before so this is all new. Xx

Hi Hbroder
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
Have a good first week.

Welcome to the forum Hbroder I hope you lost some weight with SW, and can add to your weight loss on here. Admin will be giving you lots of info to look at - do take some time to look through it all. The more you log in and make use of the forum, the more you will get out of it.
Consider joining in the daily diary which encourages us to plan our food and calories for the next day and get ideas from each other - all at different stages, with different allowances, with different diet plans. Gets really interesting! There's a recipe section and you choose a day to join a weigh in group.. if you want.
Cheering you on to reach your goals.. πππ
Calorie counting is key. You have to eat enough for it to work. I learned that the hard way. I starved and didn't lose much for a while. Don't make that mistake.
I found out on here that if you don't eat enough calories advised by the NHS bmi calculator to be able to lose weight then your body thinks that your starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. I always only ate around 1000cals beforehand so was putting weight on because of this. I am so pleased I found this out as by eating between the calories advised by the calculator I have managed to lose 2 1/2st. Good luck with your journey.
So not the recommend 1400? Xx
I kept to the 1400/day until I reached my target weight and it worked for me. I think that if you still feel hungry sticking to the 1400/day then use the BMI calculator to work out the specific calorific intake for you and aim for lower range. Its when you feel hungry that you tend to snack and eat unhealthily and more likely to eat a lot more than you should
