Mayo off: I am thinking of buying mortar and pestle

Sharing so others can be inspired, even if I don't make it.

No egg, just oil, garlic, salt and lemon.

I tried to make something similar in the food processor. It did not emulsify. I was able to rescue it by making the world's strongest garlic mayonnaise, with 1 egg, 1 small head of garlic (?!), and a lot of oil, maybe half a cup. It's too strong, so I am using it in a casserole

I use a pestle and mortar! I crush the garlic before adding it to the garlic mayo. Next time I'll try making real aioli.

Lol! I have a marble one. They are not expensive. They also make novel Xmas pressies filled with HM chocs. Next time I see one I'm buying an olive wood one too. +/- E.15.00😘

I know they are not expensive, but it's just another piece of kit in my kitchen, to end up in the cupboard beside the spiralizer.

I love garlic and that looks delicious as a glaze for a steak but raw garlic is a nightmare to rid from your breath 😧

Pestle and mortars can be pretty inexpensive and are good for grinding seeds as well.

I know what you mean about more clutter in the kitchen. I have a mini one and leave it on the windowledge as an ornament. I guess it just depends on whether you think you'll get much use out of it or not.

Well, now you've given me a second use for it.

Somewhere is my kitchen is a burr grinder, but I can't find it. Pestle and mortar for the linseeds, if I remember to buy some 😂
