Lost 1 stone! :)

Hi everyone! I’m so so pleased that I’ve now hit my 1 stone mark! I’ve lost 1 stone and am more determined than ever. Also, I’m eating and sticking to 1350 calories daily, I’m a 16 year old girl. Is this okay to be losing weight? Should I decrease the calories as I carry on loosing weight as it isn’t coming off as quickly now? Please let me know, I’d much appreciate it! Stay safe xx

Hey that’s fantastic well done. Can’t really give you advice as only just started my journey. How much more are you looking to lose ?

Thankyou so much! That’s ok, I wish you the very best with your journey. I’m hoping to loose around 50lbs in total, ideally by November, or the end of this year. X

Have you joined a weigh in group so you can have a one stone badge? :-) x

No I don’t think I have as of yet. I’ve not totally figured this app out yet - I didn’t even know that was possible! Thanks for mentioning it, I’ll have to have a look xx

Take a look in Pinned Posts and you'll find the Thursday weigh, once you've weighed in, be sure to support others on the weigh in and you should qualify for a badge. Be sure to come show me it once you're wearing it ! :-) x

Here's the link to Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... that lucigret gave you when you first posted. She suggested you join a weigh in team and the other activities you will find there, so I hope you'll take a look

Oh, and don't use the app as you may struggle to access the whole of the forum. Always use the website, whatever device you're on

Well done, Amber. You need to be careful; at your age you may not have done growing, so be careful cutting your calories too much, your body need nutrients to grow.

I know it's disheartening when the weight loss slows, but remember you may spend 80 or more years in that body, so look after it. Extreme weight loss can permanently damage your metabolism, so taking it slowly is probably a good idea, even upping the calories a bit to remind your body there is isn't a famine.

Thankyou so much! I completely agree with everything that you’re saying - I will stick to the amount of calories that I’m currently eating as it does feel right for me. X

Well done that's such an achievement, you must feel great 🙂 keep it up xx

Well done! I’m new here too. I guess as long as your target weight is within the healthy the range (I go by BMI) then good luck and well done gain! x

Hi Amber_x03

Well done on losing a stone you are doing really well. Losing weight is good but do it slowly as then you will keep it off otherwise it will come back again x Also only lose weight until you are in the healthy range bracket x

Good luck getting to your goal x

Hi! Thanks so much for your advice, I’m looking at this as a marathon and not a sprint, I think the problem for me is that I get disheartened when I don’t lose any weight! Thankyou again! xx

Well done on loosing a stone , normally would say reduce calories as loose but not with you being 16 your still growing and developing yet so need a certain amount. Its natural for weight loss to slow down so just stick with it and eating a healthy balanced meal, cooked from scratch the best way to go.

Thankyou so much! Okay, that’s really helpful. I really appreciate that! I’ll stick to my calories & will try and reduce my snacks etc. Have been cooking from scratch at much as possible! X

Well that's good can't beat freshly cooked food and more filling than ready meals and better for you. Fill yourself up with plenty of veg.
