hi Im currently 14 stone and looking to lose weight. Im a very fussy eater and the only meat I really like is roast chicken. Can I lose weight by eating roast chicken once a day (I have cereal in the morning for breakfast) I really don't eat much more as I'm just not hungry. The chicken is cooked in an oven with a tray underneath to catch the fat, I don't eat the skin or anything I just pick the chicken off the bone. I exercise daily walking 4 or 5 miles and Im starting a new weight loss dvd aswell.

Hello and Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Charliez
First of all, if you haven’t already then please read the Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around.
The theory of weight loss is to eat less calories than you consume, so eating as you currently do but in smaller quantities will reduce your weight. However, for balanced nutrition you should be eating a mix of protein and fat as well as fruit and vegetables. I suggest you pop along to the Daily Diary, our meal planning group, and let us know what foods you like and see if someone can make some suggestions
As a peer to peer support group we rely heavily upon mutual encouragement. Nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our Group Weigh-in and other Events are probably the best place to start
Best wishes in your weight loss journey

With a liking for chicken, perhaps this would sit well with a LCHF diet?
I buy chicken portions as they are cheap and easy to calculate. Just cook what I need for that meal . I have to portion size and with a large chicken I may over eat . Saying that- just be mindful if you buy one . The carcass is great if boiled up for soup with all scraps of veg or buy a bag of frozen mixed . Chicken is lean , a great protein source and versatile. I have lost weight with loads of it in my meal plans but like everything else avoid creamy sauce .. telling you the obvious but main thing is weigh it . MyFitnessPal is good for indicating how much and scanning barcode.
