You came to the right place!! Stick around you'll learn alot from those who lose. Admins will direct you in a bit. Check out the newbie thread.
I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
We all struggle like you so please don't be downhearted. Try to include a treat or two each day but base most of you calories on good, filling, healthy food. There aren't many days when I don't exceed my calorie allowance but I'm still losing 1lb a week and believe me - you will lose weight too. Just give it time. Try to exercise if you can and take the first step today. We are all here for you x
I'm going to be a bit tough and say what you wrote sounded to me like you think your healthy diet is letting you down ("it would only last me a week"). Unfortunately, it's you, and all of us, who have to do the work, the "diet" can't do it for you.
You'll find loads of information and support on here, so take the time to have a think and look at what changes you need to make - little ones at first, and don't get downhearted if the progress is slow. It may mean you trying new foods and recipes, or a new approach to managing meals throughout the day so you don't feel hungry, or looking at portion sizes. You may need to work out how you deal with eating in social situations, with your friends. You can do this, with commitment and determination, keeping your long term goal in mind.
Have you worked out your BMI and how much you need to lose to be in a healthy range? Then find out what your calorie allowance is and stick to it. There are plenty of apps to help but if youre stuck please shout.
Cut out all bread, potatoes, pasta, rice etc..White or brown. Eat lots of veg that grows above ground, all fresh meat. If the food comes in a box do not eat it, it is full of sugar. Do not eat diet food of any kind or diet yogurts all full of sugar. Only eat plain full fat natural greek yogurt. Stop eating root veg as they are high in the high carb index. Have eggs full-fat butter and cheese. Bacon now and then. If you eat sausages do not get diet ones full of carbs and sugar. Instead choose ones with 90% percent meat in. Eat fish chicken beef pork, salmon Olive Oil pecan nuts, and seeds, Avocado. Do not eat cakes or pies of any kind.Cut back on fruit, yep even though it has natural sugars the sugars are high. Instead, choose berries with fresh real cream (Not Low Fat) Yet again full of sugar and higher in carbs. Research is now showing that eating natural fats does us no harm whatsoever, it is the sugars and high carbs that does. Have plenty of salads but avoid beets as yet again high in carbs. If you eat like this I promise you will lose weight. Load up your veg on a plate with a lovely juicy steak of any meat of your choice..Watch the weight drop off. You will not even notice that you are dieting because you won't be, just eating natural good foods, cooked from scratch. Do some research and see how people are doing eating this way, especially diabetics and people who want to lose weight. Good luck
