Looking for advice! Need to currently lose three stone. Only hungry in mornings which I have a good breakfast but not hungry rest of day. I have physical disabilities which leave me pretty inactive. And really struggling to lose this weight. Has anyone else struggled with this and could you give me any tips on how to get over this? Many thanks, Dawn

Exercise has many benefits but is not the major factor in weight loss: that comes down to what we eat. I suggest you make use of the Daily Diary, where members log their planned menus for the day: you could browse at first, and maybe pick up some ideas, then join in when you're ready. You'll find it in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , along with a Welcome Newbies post and all our other activities: I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice.
Thankyou BridgeGirl! I am ready up on all links now! Very encouraging and positive.
I just don’t know how to get my head around gaining an appetite if that makes sense. Trying to eat more than a breakfast makes me feel physically sick! And I don’t know why! I’ve tried to stick to an apple, or a smoothie or banana to help boost my appetite but it doesn’t seem to be working.. I’m mentally and physically exhausted but know meds for chronic pain doesn’t help and they bung me up (wondering if this has something to do with all of this).
I know for my heath I have to loose this weight. I buy plenty of fresh fruit and veg and it just sits there in the fridge and goes off eventually. I don’t eat chocolate, or crisps or even bread! I just can’t work out why I feel like this ☹️
Hi Jessie! I definitely recommend logging what you plant to eat on the Daily Diary. It helps me to stay accountable and gives lots of recipe ideas. Good luck!!
Maybe your body is being smart. If you are inactive, one meal may have all the calories your body requires for the day (especially with the weight to lose), and you should trust it. Eat nutrient dense foods, ie proteins and lots of veggies and don't waste calories on empty carbs (grains or starchy veg) that don't give you nutrients.
Lots of people deliberately practice OMAD - one meal a day. It's not necessarily a problem if that's all you want, if you are getting the essentials your body needs in that meal.
You can't live on porridge. You are missing vital nutrients. If you find you are only eating one meal a day, then make it a proper meal. I'd suggest something that you would normally think of as a dinner, with protein, lots of veggies, healthy fats. If you can't face that first thing, then maybe have your meal at lunch time instead, or have a traditional breakfast of bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. I'd add more veggies and eggs (and black pudding or kidneys or liver etc) and not have empty calories like toast.
