If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

Hi R1b5. i TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR MESSAGE even if I think it is really hard. I lost 3 stones 4 years ago, however today I still need to be careful with my weight as as soon as I have indulgent period I weigh back in. After holiday period I have 8 lbs to lose. I start a Diet plan tomorrow so I am happy to buddy with you to follow each other.

We are living in an obesogenic environment. Don't be disgusted in yourself, any more than you would if you had high blood pressure. Focus fixing it, without shame or embarrassment.
