I am 84 and lead quite an active life but need to lose some weight without the strenuous exercises. I still manage a large garden but my knees would be better I am sure if I could lose the weight

Wishing you all the best for 2020
Good on you!! So many people use age as an excuse to pig out, when actually it is a time to look after yourself. Bette Davis once said "Old age is not for cissies", it's a quote which is my motivator, I am 61 years and consider myself in training for the next phase of my life. You say you are active, so keep doing what you are doing, read the information about the low carb, high fat diet, and don't let the buggers grind you down!! There are plenty of ageist saboteurs around. Good luck. X
Hi, drawingescape , welcome.
I am only 70, and I got down to my target weight before my birthday!
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
