Getting too thin.

Many thanks for the sensible advice received on the topic above.

Using the SMART BMI measure, I find that I am now at the optimum weight for my height and age, having lost over a stone. It should be borne in mind that these measures are only guidelines and there are a number of factors to consider, not least the age of the person trying to lose weight. I wouldn’t want to be a scraggy granny!

Have the rules changed? I thought members could only get a "Healthy BMI" badge if they were at or below BMI 25?

In about two months I will be in the Healthy band according to Smart BMI.

According to other criteria I already have healthy body-fat percentage.

Looking our best isn't about what we weigh, it's about being comfortable with our appearance.. if the mirror makes you smile.. it's a good day 😊

Where to maintain is a very complicated question.

Smart BMI, as you say takes age into account.

But BMI gives very lean recommendations for tall, muscular and large-framed people.

Even when and if you have a good "estimate" or your body fat percentage, you need to decide if you want to be Healthy (for maximum life expectancy) fit or athletic.

Elderly ladies are concerned that they will not be able to get a lean body without getting a lined face.

At Weightwatchers tonight I have lost another 3 pounds in 2 weeks.

We decided to call it a day at 9 stones, which I will achieve in a week.

This will give me a buffer zone of 3 pounds to cover weight gain at holiday times. Thanks for all the good advice. The best thing about Weightwatchers is that you need never be hungry, which is why it has worked for me.
