Hi, I have joined today. I have been trying to lose weight myself and up to now have lost about 2 and a half stone and I am now really struggling. According to my BMI I need to lose about another 4 stone. This will take some doing !!

Well done for already losing 2.5st, that's terrific and don't worry about the other 4st. I've lost 7st, so I'm sure you can too
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too

Total congratulations on losing that 2 and a 1/2 stone. Losing any weight over winter and xmas is an achievement in itself. Use that strength to keep going.
I put sone on over Christmas, nearly half a stone, but have now lost that again.
Hi Jan, I'm pleased to lose 11 lbs over last 4 weeks, another 5 stone to go, I've been overweight for too long, I want to lose another 25 lbs by April 12th, have a good week
That's very good 11 lbs in 4 weeks.
Well done on your loss so far. Try not to think about the other 4st in one go, break it down into smaller targets and relish every success. Im new to the group to and have lost a similar amount. I came on for help with maintaining as l to was getting a bit fed up with trying. But l realise that to reap both health and self esteem benefits a bit more weight off would be very beneficial. So keep going sweetheart, we can do it! 😇

What you have achieved so far is the approximate weight of a 3yr old or 28 cans of beans or dare l say it 14 bags of sugar! Visualise that and think how happy your body is not to be carrying that around all day. You are doing an amazing job. Give yourself a pat on the back.
It's already such an achievement to loss 2 and a half stone! I joined here a few weeks ago and it helps to read posts by everyone, especially on the bad days like last week when I gained a pound. It set me straight and made me focus on the next week.
I agree with the others, set yourself a goal for the end of each week, month or season, rather than focus on the BMI goal.
Just have to keep trying.
hey, when I stick to controlled CALORIE intake for another 4weeks, that will be an achievement, making me stronger - to keep to eating sensibly - and therefore hope to enjoy better health..its good to text
