So, I only let myself down! Here I am again 4 years older and in (almost) the exact same position! But this time I’m being selfish. It’s all about me! I’ve enlisted an amazing personal trainer, got myself the C25K app as well. So no excuses, none. I have a 5k race to prep myself for in February and a holiday in March. I do feel motivated but I have also learned that to put oneself first we have to learn to be a tiny bit selfish. So that’s my January promise to me. Fingers crossed this is the first day of the rest of my new life, wish me luck xGx

Hello and welcome back, Gail1875 - long time, no see 😊
I notice you mentioned way back about PCOS. If that's still relevant, I could give you some information but only if it would be useful. It points in the direction of lowering carbs and increasing healthy fats, rather than calorie counting. Let me know if you would like some links.
A good way of getting into the forum is by joining a weekly weigh-in on the day of your choice, and sharing your meal plans on the Daily Diary. They, and lots more besides, are in Pinned Posts and this is where you’ll find them healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
The forum is set up for sharing information and support so, wherever you go, please chat, ask questions and encourage others: that way, we share the support around. You’ll meet some wonderful people along the way who will be happy to share their successes and their struggles😊
Hi thank you, I’d live some info on PCOS which is definitely something I battle with and is a huge factor in my difficulty with my weight. I appreciate any help at all. I’ll also definitely weigh in too. I way myself on a Saturday morning.
Thank you again xGx
I'm sure it is an extra challenge when trying to lose weight, but this information does point a way forward.
If you join the Saturday Superstars weigh-in team, you'll find them very friendly and supportive. We ask everyone to reply to at least three other people on the weigh-ins, to keep the support going. You won't find that difficult: they're a very chatty bunch
Have a good week
Hi, Gail1875 , welcome.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
