‼️ rather lengthy post.

So I weigh in tomorrow as my new year resolution. Only starting tomorrow so I could ensure all junk was out the house.

Meal plans done, fruit and veg in. Meat pack on order tomorrow and scales at tbe ready. My motivation is each time I go clothes shopping I will buy an item of clothing (bottoms mainly) as a truer to hit. I have 2 cook books both pinch of nom and food diary and weight tracker. Bring on #2020 in 2019 I quit smoking and now 11 month and 11 days free of nicotine. Now I combatted that weight is now my focus. Small steps+ odd off days+ healthy balance. Excited for this year and what is to come. I will obviously like most humans have the odd binge due to factors but 99.9% on track. My slow cooker is at the ready too. I get 2 payments a month now due to circumstances and can do a top up on a weekly/2 weekly basis. I am also thinking of getting a savings card from supermarket and topping it up each payday between now and May and then from June to December so I can continuously restock fresh foods etc. Meat pack for lean meat is £22 but worth it what I am getting for it I reckon. I can batch cook days off in slow cooker and freeze any leftover meat for another time

Well done for giving up smoking! Out of all the things anyone could possibly do for their health, that's got to be no. 1.

Those online meat suppliers are great. You can get a top-quality product for not much more than supermarket prices. A few of them are a bit overpriced, but there's now a lot more competition and those guys are losing market share.

If more people refuse to buy that horrible meat from supermarkets and start buying the good stuff, I'm sure the prices will come down further.

I would avoid "lean meat" though. The fattier cuts are not just cheaper and tastier, they'll help you lose weight if you cut back on the stodge (bread, pasta, rice etc). Counterintuitive, but it is what it is.

Looks like you've craced that as well!

I find that having the right stuff to hand and planning ahead gives a feeling of securityas well as avoiding bingeing or going off track because I've got too hungry or tired.

The slow cooker is great for batch cooking - the Dearly Beloved has a whole stack of 'ready meals' in the freezer.

I am glad you have got it sussed.

They say that organ meat is better for you - and I expect it is cheaper -do they do kidney, liver, tongue etc?

I sometimes tuck in a bit of chicken liver into things like chilli. It intensifies the flavour without screaming offal. Delia Smith has a recipe for ragu which includes liver.
