I have decided to loose weight yet again but this time I am planning to give up smoking and cut down on my drinking too.
My partner is doing shift work and am finding it hard trying to work out the best times for the gym and stay motivated

You may find that the Quit Support forum will be able to help too healthunlocked.com/quitsupport
It's not actually necessary to go to a gym, especially at the beginning of your journey. Regular walks/cycling/wii fit/dancing/squats/lunges, etc done at home and when convenient, will be just as effective.
Log on frequently and join in to keep motivation levels up.
All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... so I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.
We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
Wishing you all the best for 2020
