i thought I’d write to you all before I go off on my adventure around Asia and Indonesia, I’ve had a not so good 18 months, my relationship broke down after 15 years so I was comfort eating to the max, the consequence of that is I’ve put on 16 pounds and I feel dreadful! I’m 5ft 5 in but I originally had quite a small frame so all this extra weight is hurting my joints especially my knees which is making me feel old 😩
I’ve decided to press the reset button for 2020 and go travelling on my own for 3 months starting in Sri Lanka on the 6th January and while I do that hopefully lose the weight I have gained, I’m going to try to do it with a combination of fasting and exercise (plenty of slow walking swimming and yoga 🏊🏃♀️🧘♂️) not sure how easy it will be with all the lovely food I’m going to encounter apparently it’s amazing in Vietnam, but I intend to come back in April with a different mind set and hopefully a different dress size 😂
Wish me luck, I will keep you up dated

That’s amazing! I’m 55 too but not as adventurous as you I’m afraid (and wasn’t when I was 20!). You are an inspiration! I wonder whether food-wise you’d be better off switching your mindset and stablising your weight, or just losing a few pounds as a start for when you get back? Seems a shame not to try everything on offer on your adventure! There are a number of people for whom fasting really works who post here so I’m sure you’ll get some interesting ideas. It’s not for me, just makes me more food-obsessed.
Aww don’t be afraid of travel it really is good for the soul, if you get the opportunity go, it’s amazing how many friendly people you meet travelling.
I’ve always been a bit of a happy wonder I went to USA when I was 19 with no plan and stayed for 3 years, my 4 children are the same but much wiser, they got degrees before they went 😂
Fasting has the same effect on me but I think I’d like to try to get over that if I can xx
