I know, it's shocking how quickly the pounds can rush on when you've taken your finger off the buzzer. I've put on around a stone when I took my eye off the ball, and I'm now determined to get it off, along with another couple of stones. I've downloaded week 1, and have printed the food and activity chart. I want to be focussed and do this once and for all! Let's give it a week, and see what happens!

Hello, GreenGrandma, and welcome.

Please see the links I've given Trina123bee, and the excellent video posted below by StillConcerned.

It would be great if you two buddied up. What about joining the Monday weigh in team together tomorrow (all information in the Welcome Newbies post) and making use of the Daily Diary?

Oh no. That's a real shame, and I bet you've felt you've been part dieting most of the time anyway. Good luck with having another go at it.

Hi Trina and welcome to the forum,

I hope you have been able to watch the video link that Concerned gave you.

I would suggest that you put a plan together along with a shopping list and don't allow yourself to buy any rubbish. By not having it in the house, you won't be able to eat it and you will feel positive and very please with yourself for coming home with a great trolly full of healthy foods :)

You can do it :)

As others have said you need a plan. If I don't plan my shopping and meals it feels to much of an effort after work to find ingredients for and make a healthy tasty meal so I don't and that's where the problems begin.

Plan, plan, plan.

Good luck

I have a sister who had a large family, even now they are grown up she cooks food for the week at the weekend. It is a lot easier for anybody to heat a frozen meal than for her to cook every night. We are retired, but my husband does not want to join me in my dieting, since we married he has cooked nearly all my meals. Since I have been dieting I cook all my own. I am getting to enjoy my own cooking and I cook extra to freeze for those busy days. It is better to batch cook even if it is for one. Good luck to you Poggsey

I've gained weight because of having to take prednisone for PMR. I am determined to lose 20lb within the year. I have made it into a "project," Just like going to work every day. Usually in the morning ,I could be down, but won't let myself sink into into negativity mode. I know since September I have lost some weight, but will not weigh until end of month. Yesterday, Sunday, I spent the afternoon cooking to make sure I had low calorie food in the frig. I do this because, when I am tired, I don't want to bother thinking about "diet" food. I, also exercise, going to the gym several times a week and 3 mornings take Lily dog to rough river park so she can run free while I walk as much as I am able for an hour. I set small goals and when achieved am pleased with myself, when not think I'll try it another day.
