Fed up: I want to loose 5kg fast! - Weight Loss Support
Fed up
I'd like someone to give me £20,000 tomorrow too!! Unfortunately to earn that amount i'd have to do a years work.
Life isn't that easy but working towards something you can achieve anything.
I know if i work hard for a year, i'll get that sum of money.
Why not set yourself a target for that 5kg loss that is achievable and work towards it?
It's been ages.
I want to loose it. A year is too long
As Steelad says, you have to have a plan.
You post here frequently so I know you're following the forum. What ideas have you picked up that you could use? What is your plan to lose those 5kgs?
I'm not saying a year for your weight loss - but work to a reasonable time scale for it.
I work in lbs so 5kg is about 11 lbs ... so why not say 12 weeks / 3 months to lose that weight?
As BridgeGirl has just said - what can you do to help lose those 5kgs?
Is there something you know you can change instantly to help? (lower sugar? lower carbs? - cook from scratch?)
Why not share some more information with people on the forum and join in a challenge or plan and use the daily diary?
There are plenty of things you can try to help you lose that 5kg - and it's not easy and it will take some effort and it will take some time.
My analogy of using work and money was a way of trying to show you have to work at something over time to achieve something.
I know I just get fed up. Yes I do follow forum. Still I can shift it.
I might as well be 20stone. It's not shifting if does it flys back on again.
You can see why I fed up.

You're still not saying what you're going to do to lose the weight. What's your plan?
Use my fitness pal to log daily diary. Alternate day exercise.
I'm sure you know from your time here that the major part of weight loss is about what you're eating, so that's your starting point. Hidden has given you some good ideas.
Once we see you joining in the Daily Diary regularly we can give you more useful support. That will be more helpful to you than doing stand alone posts that are difficult to give any useful reply to.
If you have your meals planned for today, then start off on the Daily Diary now. Here it is healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Why the hurry? Slow and steady is the way. 😊
Hi Pumpkins.
It is a shame that you are not achieving the goals you have set yourself.
If you are using MFP and excercising 3-4 times a week and still not getting anywhere then I wonder why this is.
Are you not loosing weight at all? Or not loosing quick enough, or loosing it and then putting it on again?
A few things spring to mind.
1) you are a healthy BMI, a sustained 5kg loss may just never happen for you. It is a lot of weight to loose. The closer we are to a healthy BMI rhe tougher it gets.
2) If you are loosing and gaining, my suspicion is you are loosing and gaining water not fat.
3) loss and gains ( as opposed to management at a slightly higher weight ) is really not good. That is how weight creeps up. Eventyally the losses get less and the gains more. I, and a lot of us on the forum, can testify to that!
It is much better to work on a sustained approach to food even if that means you are not as slim as you would like.
4) If MFP and excercise are not working have you thought of a different approach? There are many different ways to eat healthy and we all have access to this knowledge via the forum. The daily diary is an excellent place to see what others are eating and rhen choose some meals yourself. The different challenges are great ways to learn from others and share information.
All our journies are self directed, sometimes lonely, always hard work and often slow.
Hi Pumpkins - sometimes it helps to look at the quality of the foods we are eating - I have found that dramatically reducing my carbohydrate and sugar intake has helped to shift weight loss in the right direction. I also like to practice Intermittent Fasting - so I tend to skip breakfast and only eat lunch and dinner with no snacks or calories outside of my 6-8 hour eating window. Sometimes it's also about shifting our mindset away from a temporary 'diet' towards a long term lifestyle shift. I hope you find something that works for you x
I actually took the start of mindful eating as seriously as a new job . You could do this in 3 months, but the secret is to maintain . Many people lose the weight but because they have had a 'diet' of shakes , powders and Weightwatchers type food then they cannot sustain this because the food restricts any social life and emotionally I personally feel I need to enjoy/ look forward to my food . Try portion sizes . At first I had 3 meals a day , no snacks as I wanted my initial efforts to be noticed on the scales . 3 months is about 1lb a week . This is realistic. Combine with exercise . Not only does it keep me fit but an evening class at least twice a week stops me snacking at night . I make my tea to have when I return . Socially I eat less during the day and exercise more even have a swim then I don't feel that bad after drinking a bottle of wine or 3 burgers ...2 without buns at a BBQ .
You guys are right. Back from the gym.
