Hi just joined today,

I am a yo yo dieter have been all my life! I am an emotional eater, happy sad anxious, you name it any excuse. Have recently put on so much weight that I am at my heaviest and really need to take action. This is my week one......but I just wish that this time (I say this every time) will be the last time I have to go through this, why oh why can I not sustain any weight loss for more than one year? We have just installed a home gym, so no excuse there. All I can say is here I go again!

If you pick a day, any day, and weigh in each week that will give you some accountability. Every night a Daily Diary is posted where we put down what we plan to eat each day so that helps you stick to your plan. There are lots of different challenges on here too to help with motivation and you can just come on here anytime to chat with other people in the same boat ! :-) x

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum salsadip 😊

You are not alone in having a lifetime of yo-yo dieting behind you. Maybe you could try a different approach? Ditch the diet, focus on eating proper food, in a decent quantity and no diet substitutes. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure. Also try to include some good healthy fat in your diet, eating fat does not make you fat, it’s an essential nutrient and really good for keeping you full, unlike carbohydrates and sweet things that trigger hunger. For more help check out the Daily Diary 😊

We have found that active participation is key to success, reading posts and replying to others, and taking part in forum activities every day. Please see today’s Chat Thread with a list of all the things happening on the forum healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

If you haven’t already then please read the Welcome post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... please read it carefully and just ask if you have any questions.

I notice that you have left your post unlocked. We always advise that you select “only my community” when you write a post. Please read our security post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Best wishes in your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊
