Hi i added myself last week but something went wrong and here I am again. Looking to loose around 5 stone and have been struggling the last 15 years with yo yo dieting. Hope i can do it this time. I get no helpful support any where else so hoping i can gather a few friends on here and we can struggle on together :)

Me too! I have 5stone to lose and have tried all sorts of diets, and some were very extreme! I think the key to success will be having patience, accepting that it will take a long time and trying to enjoy the journey. That's what I willbe reminding myself all the time :)

Cuppa32 has the right idea...take a positive view on this change in your lifestyle.  You are not going to deprive yourself - just spread the treats over a longer time period.  You can eat the foods you like, but not all in one day...keep a log of what you eat and stop when you get to 1400 or 1500 calories.  Plan more movement and activity into your day, even if it is only running up and down the stairs a few more times than you would normally!  It all counts.  Slowly but surely, you will see your healthy self reappearing and feeling great!

Thanks for the reply, yes started the diary...again lol, started cutting rubbish out Thursday and weighed myself yesterday to start the plan this week and lost 3lb. Not gloating or celebrating at all but a good start i think. Cant wait to see the old me and lookibg forward to following other peoples journeys...i am not alone :)

Nothing more to add but just agree with DartmoorDumpling   on this 😊 I have made permanent changes to my eating and enjoy my food, just less of it 😊 Over two stone and three dress sizes down, plus much more energy due to increasing exercise 😊

Good luck!

Hi animalmad13.

Like you I've been on the diet treadmill for years. I started last week and have lost 7lb. I find that this NHS plan helps with portion control much more than any other I have tried-and I have tried many!!!- I spend some time every evening going through the Fit4Life web site getting to know where to find things. The support here is fantastic so go for it. Best of luck
