Hi and welcome, pembrokeshire831
As we mature, our bodies struggle to process carbs the way they used to, rendering high carb diets, like SW's difficult to sustain. Have a look at these, which will suit you better and be easier to maintain healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...
Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary.

Welcome Pembrokeshire (by the way one of my most favourite places in Great Britain!). There are many of us on here who’s weight has crept up on us and also manage to lose and then put it back on again. There are some really inspirational people on here who tell it as it is (all the ups and downs). Find out what works for you, regularly come on here and chat to people (good and bad) and see where it takes you. Wishing you all the best😊
Thank you I’m hoping this forum will support me in the changes I want to make rather than need to make. I get so frustrated as I cook from fresh hardly eat convince food but clearly something is not working for me. X
It might be worth you counting calories for a while. I also cook from scratch, but hadn’t realised how big our portions were. I weighed 80g rice and pasta and had a bloomin’ shock. If you want help for portion sizes if you think this might be the problem have a look at the heart foundation as they do some really good visuals. Hope this helps.
You've identified that what you're eating currently is maintaining and/or adding to your weight so that's what you need to change. You have had some very sound advice from moreless that offers a new approach. I do hope you'll read the links she has given you.
You should do great as you cook from scratch; real food, no low fat or diet or 'light' products, plenty of veg, not being afraid of healthy fats, not building your meals on white carbohydrates - that should get things moving for you.
Using the Daily Diary will help with your meal planning and give you helpful feedback. Information in the newbie pack moreless has given you

Try the Low-Carbohydrate High-Fat diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked). Give up Grains, Potatoes and Sugar (GPS).
