Had a good week. I was down 2.5 pounds since last week , just 8 pounds to go. I got a new PB at my local Parkrun on Saturday and on Tuesday I got a new 5K PB time of 27:07. Tonight I did a nice easy 5K in 29 minutes.
Hoping to lose another 1 to 2 pounds in the next week.

Congratulations for your successful "down 2.5 lbs since last week" and your PB 5K time of 27.07. All those runners trying to get a sub 30 minute 5k must envy you saying 29 minutes was easy, well done. 😊 🏃 The average time for getting a 5K is around 28 minutes, nevertheless for new runners it isn't all that 'easy'. 😊
3 months ago I was one of those runners. My average 5K time was around 33 mins. I found it so hard to go faster. But then I started some 5K interval training and it has been unbelievable. I could not imagine that I’d be running under 28 mins. The weight loss has also really helped with my running. I’ve now lost 25 lbs in total since November. Thank you.
Well done damienair 😊. Are you going to join one of our Group Weigh-in’s? They’re excellent for mutual support and encouragement. They’re In Events on the forum homepage healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Thanks. I’ll spend more time checking out the Forum. I don’t know where the various topics are. Is there a section with Recepies? I’m not a Social Media Person. Health Unlocked and Strava is as far as my Social Media engagement go. So I struggle a little sometimes. I’m a 44 year old Electronic Engineer whom is a Technophobe when it comes to Social Media, in fact it’s more an allergy.😀
Wow. 750 miles in 90 hours, that’s an amazing achievement. I was a total couch potato 2 years ago. I’ve fallen in love with Parkrun and enjoy 5K. I’ll never be an endurance runner. 10K is a marathon for me. Healthy BMI and being fit and healthy is all I want now.
Well done to you on 6.5K at 69 especially after being disabled 6 months ago. That is just as big an achievement as cycling 750 miles in 90 hours.
