Fasting diet?

Hi everyone, I’ve seen that some people are on a fasting diet that seems to be helping with the weight loss. Could someone tell me how it works, I’m hoping to try it. Thank you 🙂

Hi Heart17

I’m doing a 16:8 eating plan where I fast for 16 hours and eat in an 8 hour window. In that 8 hour window I eat only home cooked meals, cut out sugar and all other products that contain sugar which for me were cakes, sweets, donuts, and all othe crap, I’m sure you get the drift 😆

That 8 hour window doesn’t mean cram all your food in that period and eat all you want which muggings initially thought 😝😝 but rather it’s a time for you to eat healthier and enjoy your meal after a fast.

Some are doing a 20:4 fast which is the same principle.

In the 16 hour of fast I’m focused, exercise more and in tune with my body and hunger pangs... I actually now know what hunger is which I didn’t before.

Enough waffle from me - hope that helps x

Good luck but do what works for you.

Some find that, on ADF (Alternate Day Fasting), they can eat "as much as they want" on the "feasting days" - but it is still better to "eat sensibly".

Hi, I have just started but there are different ones you can do.

5:2: Fast two days, up to 600cal-800cal a day. five days eat normal (if you are a dieter you'll be amazed how many calories you can have on a normal day).

16:8: Fast 16 hours, eat meals in the remaining 8 hours.

I am doing the second one at the moment. Fasting starts after evening meal, stops at lunch time the next day. The idea is that you don't eat, but you can drink water and teas. However, I am better following it during the week when I'm at work and I make myself a green smoothie (kale, cucumber, celery, green apple, frozen mango, parsley and mint) and drink this during the morning.

I think you need to find what works for you. I don't stick to one rule anymore. I combine it with calorie counting. I lost 2 pounds this week (it's my first week, but I like to be positive). People prefer more to mix fasting with the keto diet.

I can't do the keto as I can't have dairy and without it, it's not easy (Butter in scrambled eggs: lovely, olive oil or coconut oil, not that lovely to me).

You have find your way which makes you stick to something which works for you.

Good luck:)

Thank you Tumay. I think I will do the 16 hour fasting first. The 5:2 sounds good as well but think I will work up to that. 2lbs in your first week is really good, well done. I’d be happy to lose 2lb a week. I’ve got around 4 stone to lose, so anything would be good for me. At the moment I just seem to be gaining. So hopefully this will work 🙂 sending you best wishes for the rest of your fasting. Let me know how you getting on soon 🙂
