Well I did well last week. My weigh is on Tuesday. But I got on the scale today. And gained 2 pounds. Well that gave me the right to binge. My first weigh and gained weight. I was upset.
Does anybody out there have any advice to get on track and feel better and get back on track and let go of today. Thanks.

Oh dear, I’m sorry you are disappointed with the scales. Don’t give up after just one week. Forget about the binge you just had. It’s in the past, now is the time to get back on track.
1) Look again at your daily allowance based on your current weight and activity levels.
2) Record every thing you eat and drink in a free tool such as MyFitnessPal.
3) Eat enough to meet the upper level of the daily allowance. If you don’t, your body will try and hold on to the extra pounds because it thinks you are starving.
4) Think of an alternative distraction to soothe you when you want to binge. Go for a walk, run a bath, have a glass of water or a cup of tea.
I hope this helps? Looking forward to see you continue to weigh in on Tuesday’s. Things will get easier once they become a habit.
Well the first start is that you’ve posted on here & sounds like your ready to give it another go. 👍🏻 I assume you’ve done your NHS BMI calculator which will give you guidelines on amount of calories you should aim for in a day. Admins will respond to you shortly am sure & tell you to eat higher end of calories 👌🏻 & send you links to read. Log your food on my fitness pal & aim to plan ahead . Look on daily dairy for ideas & support. Drink plenty water & exercise if you can. Am reading this good advise myself as had rubbish 3 days (usual thing of weekend) Don’t beat yourself up, brush yourself down & start again - today is a shiny new day! I restarted last week & lost 3lbs but now Need to pull myself back - we are only human after all (as the song goes) I have planned my breakfast lunch & supper for today & aim to stick with it. Come on we can do this! 👊🏻
Sorry to hear you were disappointed Applesspice. Could those two pounds have to do with hormonal changes, salt intake, or lack of sleep? Any of those could cause your body to hang on to more water. Did you perhaps start a new exercise habit this week as well as changing your eating? If you did those two pounds are likely water as well as muscles like to bloat a bit when you change/intensify their use. Usually takes around 6 weeks for them to get comfortable enough to let go of the water but it doesn´t get more every week so if that is the cause you should see a food-related loss on the scale next week and a water-related one in 6 weeks.
Morning! My thought when I do this kind of thing is that this whole process is about changing habits lifelong, and is not a diet with the usual target date on which I will stop and probably go back to my old habits. This used to depress me but is now a great relief as it takes the weekly/daily pressure off. So it is not surprising that, in the very first week, we find ourselves still using old habits, but doing that, and feeling the way you feel about having done it, is the way we learn and remember next time. So it is actually constructive - a bit like a growing pain! As others have said, if you were really not ready to change, you would not have checked in today to share this, so well done, it's a new day and you are not the person you were yesterday! WELL DONE FOR BEING HERE.
