Throughout my thirties I drank an average one pint of beer per week and smoked twenty cigarettes per day, smoking more heavily when stressed. I gave up both for my fortieth birthday.
Throughout my forties I never turned back to 🚬 smoking cigarettes and remained smoke and alcohol free but I comfort ate when stressed. Inevitably I gained weight . I dieted and lost the weight gained. The first time I lost three stones but then put two back on. I tried again and lost two stones but put two and a half back on.
Turning fifty today I will aim to stop 🛑 comfort eating, lose the weight I put back on, remain 🚭 smoke and alcohol free.
I wish you the very best of luck Juan-Stone. You certainly seem to have the discipline to succeed as you’ve done so twice before. Maybe you need to join the maintainers group on here once you reach your target. It might stop you slipping into bad habits.
Try Yoga! The breathing definitely works to reduce stress and you get the benefit of slowly becoming more flexible. It’s not about tying yourself into knots and there are all different levels in each class. I strongly recommend it to anyone with stress issues although usually they are too stressed to try it! It is a secret weapon honestly!
Very best of luck J-S. you have a clear plan and an objective view on the past. A great starting point.
And happy birthday!
Happy happy birthday! And good luck and well done with your plans.
