Hi Fitdays, I have just joined too and am the same age as you. I’m also sick of not being a healthy weight. Hopefully we can encourage each other. We can do this 😁👍

Hi Nowisthetime, thanks for the encouragement! How are uou getting on in your weight loss journey?

Yesterday was my first day getting started and despite my best efforts I failed big time because of helping my daughter bake! So today is a new day and I'm determined to stick to plan.

I'm learning to swim so I was up bright and early for my lesson. I've had a healthy breakfast and mentally planned my lunch and dinner, which I'm going to log. I've downloaded the couch to 5k app, going to do the first run later this afternoon. I need accountability so just a push and someone asking if I met my goals works best for me. 😃 Hope you are all having a good day!

Hi again! Thanks for asking about my journey. It’s been a bit stop and start for me. I lost 2stone, broke a bone in my foot exercising to a walking dvd of all things and managed to put a stone back in when I was out of action!! So here I am giving it another very determined go. You sound like you’re set up for success with your plans. I will be here cheering you on!

Let us know how your walk/run goes this afternoon. I thinks it’s brilliant that you’re learning to swim. I used to be a regular swimmer but can’t face the swimming costume just yet! X

Hiya!

injuries are always a bummer, I play netall once a week but am very careful not to get hurt( I've been unable to play for a 6 week stretch before) I'm glad you have recoverd and are now determined to get to the end and stay there. I'll be rooting for you all the way!

I think it's amazing that you have lost the 2 stones, so you know you can do it. I suppose it's just s learning curve when we have set backs, how fast we can get back to our new healthy lifestyle. Do you mind sharing what style of eating plan you have followed? I feel I'm always flitting from one plan to another. I know all the healthy things to eat but soooo much conflicting information and then I revert back to my normal not so great diet. I find it especially hard to change my love of spicy curries as I'm Asian. Surely it doesn't have to be low carb, high fat or dijevitter combination? Is balanced , a bit of everything ok?

I have just cut out the sweet stuff altogether and watched my calories. (I allow myself one glass of red wine and one soya latte out per week which is my treat.) If I didn’t have that I would cave. I don’t beat myself up if I eat something naughty I just try harder the next day. It was much easier when I was exercising though so I need to get back to it. Hope you managed your walk/run today. X
