Hi I have just joined, i need to loss a least 2 stone to feel comfortable in myself. Like most people I have tried lots of diets but get dishearted when the weight doesn't come off as fast as I would like. Any tips to keep me motivated would help a lot x

Motivation
Hello I had just under 2 stone to loose and I have a mental block when it comes to diet- always see them as a negative experience since it usually involves denying yourself something! I did the NHS 12 week weight loss plan which is calorie counting, so you don't have to change what type of food you eat but you do change the portion size and you can still have a treat as long as you stay in your allowance. You can either go by the generic allowance it gives you or put your details in the NHS BMI calculator and it will give you an upper and lower range of daily calorie allowance- I used the generic one, but others used the BMI calculator to work out their allowance and recommend basing your allowance towards the upper range suggested. It gives you useful tips to deal with challenges like eating out, snacks alcohol and suggests minor changes to your diet/lifestyle each week. I have been maintaining for 1.5yrs now but I still use the tips provided to help me.
use this forum to ask questions or ask for help we have all had experience of falling off the wagon so to speak and all have found someway to mitigate bad habits- mine are crisps and occasionally wine gums so I don't have them in the house and don't go up the relevant shopping aisle- though sometimes I still give in- that's why its a lifestyle change not just a diet.
