Wishing you all the best
Don't think of it that way - that's far too much to contemplate. Just take it a stone (or even half a stone) at a time. You get amazing health benefits from just losing 10% of your body weight - so aim for that at first! I need to lose at least 10 stone and am progressing slowly - but I will get there, and so will you.
Hi mikebez1. I would echo what everyone else has said - don't look at the total amount, break it down into manageable goals. My first goal is to lose 5 kg by Christmas and I'm on my way - I've lost 1 kg and am due to weigh in again on Saturday and hope to see another 1/2 kg at least gone. It is doable. Wishing you all the best with your weight loss journey. This forum is great - really helpful and supportive.
Hi and welcome to this forum. As others have said take small steps at a time aiming for 7 lbs off as your first goal. It takes a while to get your head round everything but I found the nhs website very helpful. I never thought I would get as far as I have just hopefully another pound off at weigh in on Monday and I will have reached 3 and a half stone....have still a way to go. I count calories and keep a record of everything I eat on a daily basis. A tip for you too is to measure yourself now , make a note of your measurements and see how you get on each 7 lbs you lose.
All the best to you Sue
Hi. Well was 33 10. Down to 32 3. In two weeks. A long way to go.
Hi well done with your weight loss so far is such a short time. It will take time but it is worth it when you start buying smaller clothes . Always a booster when friends or family start to notice your weight loss too. Hope you took a photo at the start if not take one now. I kept one pair of my largest crop trousers and keep putting them on , on Tuesday I could kept both of my legs down one trouser leg which made me feel brilliant. You have made an excellent start, keep it up and keep letting everyone on here know about your progress. Sue
Do you walk as exercise sue
Hi I do walk but not for long as we are at top of a hill and we end up walking back uphill so tend to walk round the block. We have been away 3 times for 2/3 nights each time and walked quite a lot more then both during the day and after our evening meal. That is the only exercise I do apart from a bit of gardening when weather permits. I have gained some health benefits from losing weight....my cholesterol has halved down to 3.6 , my blood pressure is also going down . My GP said that for a 67 year old I am doing very well and he is very supportive of my weight loss. I have a problem with one knee from a fall I had 18 months ago which has made it difficult to walk too far. I also go swimming with my husband once a week and when we can I go another time with my daughters mother in law, but that time is a bit of chat and a bit of a swim etc. I have already got through four sizes of swimming costumes. Hope you have a family member or friend who is supporting you if not lots of people on here will give you lots of support. Sue
Hi mikebez1, welcome! I echo what everyone has said, and definitely take lots of measurements, they'll help later! You will get there, one step at a time. Sort yourself a healthy diet and your body will adjust accordingly. Keep posting on here, even when things aren't going well, we're always here.
Hi mike and welcome. You can do this. Take 1 day at a time stay close to the site for fabulous hints tips and support. Xx
Thanks will try. I haven’t taken any measurements apart from my 62 inch trousers are getting slack.
