Where to start

So I’m new to here. 5 foot 3. Weigh far too much , 16 stone. And have a lot to loose. I work very long shift hours days and nights which can play havoc with eating plans and routine. Would love advice on what to eat, trying to fit exercise into shift work, and someone to be accountable to and check in with daily. :) look forward to hearing from you.

Hello I work 12.5hr shifts and a mix of days and nights- do you have a microwave at work? I batch cook on my days off and divide the meals into 4-6 portions depending on the recipe. I tend to a mix of chillies, curry and pasta sauces so I just need to add rice, pasta or couscous then reheat at work. I then eat something light when I get home- usually about 8pm- sandwiches, hot dogs, burger or soup depending on how calorific the main meal at work was. On nights I try and keep to the same meal pattern- so have breakfast in the morning before going to bed, main meal when I wake up and something light at work and easy digestible- usually salsa & dippers.

Exercise is more problematic and is variable depending on how many shifts I am working that week. However weight loss is mainly food related rather than exercise related. I park off site and walk briskly to work which is about 10mins away so getting some exercise on a work day.

Good luck with your weigh loss- we are a supportive bunch and all have tips which worked for us- they may not work for you but its finding things that work for you and your lifestyle
