Hi i am new to this but have to lose approx 6 stone to get in my ideal weight range. I am so self conscious all the time and I am now engaged which should of got me into the zone but it hasn't. I lost my dad a year ago and have comfort are ever since. Thinking of slimming world, has anyone else tried that.

Welcome and good luck. You should find lots of inspiration, support and advice here. I know some people on here are following slimming world so no doubt some advice will follow.

Hi.I started S.W. three weeks ago.Its taken me a while to get my head around it properly but the weight is slowly coming off.All I would say is to give it a real chance to work.It would be a good idea to add some form of exercise to tone up.Walking is preferable to me.So good luck.

Comfort eating is a common response to loss. I try to find other ways to feel whole and loved.

Ive done slimming world many times and lost weight and put more back on so i started here nearly 5 weeks ago im having 1400 calories a day and doing exercise 5 days a week. I track what im eating and drinking on my fitness pal which is really good and ive lost 1 stone so far in the first 4 weeks. Im just cutting down on what i would normally eat so its really easy and the craving for sweet things get easier the longer you do it but if i want a bar of chocolate i have one if ive got enough calories left at the end of the day. If i was you i would try the 12 week nhs plan and use my fitness pal for a couple of weeks to see how you get on, ive found it a lot better than slimming world i wish i had found this site along time ago the support you get is amazing and if you get stuck with anything just ask and someone will help. Good luck with it all let us know how you get on.

I printed out the first week then started putting it all on my fitness pal and its really easy to use, if i can do it anyone can. set yourself little goals half a stone at a time and once you get into it it does get easier.
