Hi Yorksteress , the motivation will be your own. Motivation is the reason you want to lose weight. Have a think about that, why you want to lose weight, what you have to gain, how your life will be different. Write it down for yourself to come back to when it seems tough or you need to get back on track.
And have a good read of the link Minniewinny has given you so you can find your way around and make the most of this fabulous forum
Welcome to this community, I have found lots of support here and wish you every success in your efforts.
Hi Yorksteress and welcome to this website. I only joined here recently but have found the support and suggestions very helpful. I saw a letter from a consultant to my GP which said in ten foot high letters...this lady is obese..he may as well have put it on news at ten. It was the wake up call I needed. I read the NHS 12 week plan and based my eating plan on that but used 1400 calories per day as my limit, split up through the day. I began the last Monday in November 2017 and now have lost 3stone 5 lbs but best of all my BMI states I have now moved from obese to overweight. I have sent all my big clothes to charity and it is really good to move from buying everything in size 22 to buying size 14. It is lovely to be complimented on my weight loss and my GP is really pleased with my progress as my cholesterol and high blood pressure have dropped significantly. I know I still have a long way to go but look at small weight loss goals each month. So far I have never put any weight on though occasionally I may maintain but I am happy with that. I kept one pair of size 22 crop trousers and when I feel disappointed in weight loss that week I put those crops on and know I will never need to wear them again. Good luck with your weight loss journey..it can seem a long journey . What took a short time to put on does seem to take ages to get off but think of the health benefits you will achieve on the way. So all my very best wishes to you.....you can do it. Sue
Inspiring Sue, well done. π
Well done you! Thanks for your inspiring input. I'm also following the NHS 12 week plan and using 1400 cals as my limit, and its working. I've found the suggestions for splitting the cals between meals very helpful and easy to stick to. On we go.
Hi Yorksteress! Youβre in the right place π. I just joined this group fairly recently and thereβs so much info, support and motivation. It really helps knowing others are going through similar things. Iβm finding the Nhs bmi visual chart a really good (scary) visual reminder of why I need to stick with this plan. Itβs about health for life. You can do it! Best of luck.
Good luck with everything. Youβve come to the right place. There is always someone here to celebrate your success and keep you motivated when youβre not feeling it.
