Needing some inspiration, know I can do it but have no motivation. BMI of 29 and don't want to be here any more. Love food but want to be confident more. Time to make some changes

Hi RealEgg and welcome.

I can empathise quite specifically as that was my BMI when I joined in Jan and a few numbers after the decimal point. I came here wondering why I'd joined as I'd all but given up ever getting the motivation.

You've come to the right place and an administrator will reply shortly, supplying you with information on how to start and how to get the best from this site.

Good luck!

Hi RealEgg

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Why not come along to today's weigh in to record your starting weight.

You can find it on the Home page in Events.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Hi Real Egg I know how it feels you will loose weight but you have to stop obsessing first

Hi and welcome, you have found the right place for help, support and motivation,

Make small changes, set mini goals, reward your achievements (non-food), find an exercise you enjoy,

Get involved on the forum, join a challenge, weigh in, chat, ask questions, joining the daily diary is fantastic for ideas and support,

Relax and enjoy your journey, if you are having fun it makes a lot of difference

As a food lover I'm healthy eating, counting calories, no food is banned, I do sugar swaps, I have treats, I don't feel hungry at all (nhs bmi calculator for calorie allowance)

Good luck

I love this site as I was looking for a change but was adamantly not going to go on a diet. Instead I found loads of help, support, and a route towards a healthier life. All of which I was looking for. So you've come to the right place to get started. For motivation, think about a goal that isn't about your weight but that will be improved by losing the weight. For me, I think it was as simple as just wanting to fit my into my clothes without them being too tight and uncomfortable. Going from bulging out of everything to smaller sizes was the payback. ;)

Good Luck and Welcome! :)

If you love your food RealEgg, and I suspect you are not alone there 😄, then treat yourself to the Hairy Dieters cookbooks. Real food, easy to cook, calories counted for you, utterly yummy! It does require some planning - shopping to make sure you have got everything (although there's no weird ingredients), and preparing food before you get to the stage where you're starving and could eat a scabby donkey. Planning is the key and you can enjoy fab food and lose weight at the same time. There is also the Change4Life recipe app, which has great ideas for three meals and snacks, all calorie counted and all delicious. So there's your motivation- climb aboeard the wagon with us! 😊

I agree with you, I love the Hairy Dieters books! It's not so much diet food as just cooking in a more clever way! :) And I'm always in need of inspiration.

Not what you're looking for?
