After starting the year feeling very motivated it soon was lost!
I run the local parkrun most weekends and although it’s a slow time I am able to run the complete 5k!
I was thinking of joining slimming world but then my mum came up with a different idea as Mums wanting to lose weight as well so she’s come up with a plan of her own we do it together and then weigh ourselves once a week if we gain we put a £1 in our own jars and once we get to our goal weight we get the money back!

Sounds like a great idea. Support and motivation for each other and hopefully financially better off too. You would stand to lose quite a bit of dosh at Slimming World! There is also lots of support and motivation here and it is all free so make the most of it.

Does sound like a great idea! My mum does Slimming World and struggles on and off it whilst spending a fortune.
I've been doing my own calorie counting since after New Year and it seems more fun - as well as actually learning about food - not just how many syns or points things are. Finding out actual nutritional values and calorie low / high products has opened my eyes a lot!
This forum seems great for support for both of you if needed as well - i just hope neither of you have a potful of money at any point!!
Couple of people I work with do slimming world so are also giving me tips etc but I think by having the pots it will be motivation as we will then get the money at the end! Once the better weather is here properly I will be running in the evenings with a goal by the end of the year to complete a 10K event! Xx
