Hi, it has been a while…

I haven't lost any weight since I last posted. I just don't have any motivation to, and I gave up a weeks ago. I have actually gained a little, maybe 3lbs. I'm going to start again in the new year, but not as hard as I used to.

I upped my antidepressant dosage to 100mg (up from 50g), and it hasn't really improved my mood. I feel disconnected, and don't care about anything, but care too much at the same time… it's complicated.

I finally received a letter for an appointment with a psychotherapist for the 5th of January. I don't know what help that would be, because the things that make me unhappy are out of the psychologist's control, and to an extent, my control.

Merry belated Christmas, and happy new year! 🎉🎇🎊🎆

I hope you all have a great, slimmer 2018. 🤗

Hi DiZia

Don't worry about that small gain, when your ready to start again it will soon come off.

Sorry to hear you have had to have your medication increased, hope it will help you. I know your not sure what help the psychotherapist will be but maybe just having someone to listen to you will help. Have you tried keeping a journal and writing down how you feel as sometimes that can be a good release.

I wish you all the best for a happier new year. :)

Look on 2018 as a new start; a new you.

Don't be despondent about your recent weight gain - you are not alone out there, especially over Christmas. What goes on can come off...just take one day at a time and be pleased with yourself for every small decision taken towards a healthier way of eating; choosing a piece of fruit instead of a biscuit, a fruit tea instead of a latte coffee for example. Have some suitable "treats" for those moments when you need something comforting; chocolate rice-cakes, jellies, granola to nibble on, dried fruit.

Hopefully you will find a way to cope with those problems that are dragging you down, with the help of your professionals. Find time to get out in the fresh air, climb a hill, stroke a pony. These little pleasures help your state of mind no end...

Wishing you well on the 5th January, I hope you get the right support. I think best medicine can often be simply talking. Mind the charity often support group and counselling. I found in the past being round like minded people, sharing emotions and life experiences.

Wishing you lots of success on your journey.

I am sorry that life is such a struggle for you but never give up. There is ALWAYS hope. The therapy could really help. I found CBT to be very beneficial. It taught me to think in a different way about the challenges that life throws at us. The problems are still there but I control my mood by the way I think about them. I also have great belief in the power of prayer and I will pray that you will find joy and contentment.

Well done for posting, and we,lol<done for seeing the psychotherapist. Perhaps not everything is out of your control and you will be bale at least to make small changes to start with. Good luck.

Hi, good to hear from you. Don't give up - just see what the psychotherapist is like - he/she may be able to help or just be a nice person you like spending time with. I am also trying a new start - haven't really dieted for most of 2017, but down overall by 2.9kg for the year - a tiny amount, but so what. Here's to a successful 2018 for both of us - and everyone else on the Forum. Happy New Year!
