Hey everyone. No idea if anyone remembers me, or cares, but I joined around a year ago, was active for a month or two then disappeared. Well I'm back. I don't know how long for but hopefully I don't give up this time.
I will be starting my weight loss journey soon once I have put all my plans in place. I'm actually going to be posting my adventure on Instagram which terrifies the hell out of me. I'm not sure what it will involve exactly but I'm thinking before photos with measurements, daily videos of me exercising (with the help of Joe Wicks workouts on YouTube) and weekly posts with updates and weigh in.
I have actually come up with my own plan which I'm quite happy and comfortable about. I will spend the next week or so putting plans in place, especially when it comes to food such as putting paper on cupboards with information and calories plus possible meal ideas and recipes.
This probably sounds like an excuse, and I guess it is a little, but I have this OCD thing with numbers and days so I only like to "start" something on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday and at the start of the month, or on an even date. I'm weird I know. I might start on Friday 1st but its before the weekend (obviously..) and I have it stuck in my head that Saturday's are takeaway nights (even though this doesn't always happen, such as today).
I'm leaning more towards Monday 4th because 1) it's a Monday, 2) it's an even date and 3) I'm a nerd and think it's kinda funny with the whole "May the 4th" thing so as least I'll always remember that's when I started.
Anyway, this turned into quite a long post - oops! How has everyone been?

Welcome back ChubbyUndBubbly! In case you still would like to use the Forum alongside your Instagram plan, we have updated things on the site so please have a look at the latest guidance in link to Pinned Posts following. You'll also find links within this to Daily Diary and Weigh Ins
Thanks! Yeah I thought I would use the forum as well. However, I just realised is it "only" for those following the NHS plans? Yay Mondays! As I said in my post, I'll probably start on Monday 4 May
Welcome back. I do remember you. You had a different name first then changed it to the current one.
You wanted to lose weight but didn’t seem to implement much action. Had Greg food, lots of carbohydrates and considerable portion sizes.
I hope you can focus on action beyond planning, and eat healthy food. I remember I suggested that your food is more colorful. I.e. more fresh fruit and vegetables, less beige buns and bread 🥖. Avoiding carb loaded drink helps, too.
That's right. Yeah I was doing it kinda weird. It was because I would go to my local Boots and use their weighing machine every week, so I would pick up a Greggs. I'm doing it my way this time, from home. I'm not sure how to plan food though as I usually live on cereals and bread (buns for burgers, bread for toast or soup).
I'm not studying anymore. I was going to start Computer Games last September but decided to give up university, although lately I can't stop thinking about it. Not sure if I should try again or how it would even work with the current global situation.
Have a look at dietdoctor, they suggest meals on there so you can see what kind of food helps you achieve healthy eating and with healthy eating you'd lose weight..👍
Why do you want to wait to start the weight loss? Is it not so that the sooner the better? Less weight can be to your benefit more than sticking to numbers.
My experience is that plans get adjusted many times, thus, a plan thought out in too much detail and/or too early may fail. Guidelines and rough ideas may as well do the job. It is the action that is going to act. 😀
That doesn’t have to be to perfection, any adjustment towards a healthy lifestyle is better than none. Also, one learns so much on the way, and at the beginning the knowledge and awareness are probably less than at a more advanced stage. Adapting to one thing at a time can bring more sustainable results than turning your current lifestyle upside down on day 1.
I hope this helps.
Hi C’n’B, I remember you. In answer to your question, you can follow any sensible weight-loss eating regime, it doesn’t have to be the NHS route.
My advice though would be to think about whether the eating plan you choose can be sustainable, if you are really serious about losing weight. Good luck!
