A minute on the lips ...

Hi, I’m new to this group but not new to dieting. I lost 1 1/2 stone at SW and then piled it back on again - as usual. Just can’t seem to keep it off. What can I say??? I love food!! Especially the food that puts weight on me 😱. I’ve joined this group in the hope I’ll find a way to be stricter with myself when it comes to those goodies 😊

Hi and welcome, Joanne-carol :)

You haven't done anything that most of us haven't done before, but now that you're here with us, you can learn to lose the weight and maintain it :)

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header, so please take the time to read it carefully.

Wishing you all the best :)

hi Joanne-Carol and welcome! I don't think of this as a diet but rather a new way of life. I love food too, I am just learning to love different foods I don't normally eat like veggies. I grew up on green beans and corn so I am now learning to like broccoli, Brussel sprouts, carrots and peas and the like. I like cabbage and lettuce in a salad with dressing on my fork instead of my salad. I will eat ice cream sometimes in a little bowl so I don't eat so much. I use smaller plates and larger portions of veggies and I have lost 20 pounds in 12 weeks. it seems like a little bit but it is staying off (except the 3 pounds I gained at Christmas) and I am feeling better than ever. if you will post and read here in this forum, you will find yourself losing weight, slowly but surely I assure you. we are a very supportive group and have all been on the diet merry-go-round many times. good luck!

Hi Joanne-carol , I have done the same myself. The 1st time I joined I did really well but when I stopped going I put most of it back on & then rejoined but left as I didn’t gel with the leader.

Then I saw information about this forum on the NHS website & joined . Will the help of the friends I made on this forum I managed to lose the weight again, but I stopped being careful & put some back on so am back again to start again from 2/1/18 😬

Good luck

Anyone got any ideas for low cost, non food 'rewards'?

I am new to the realisation I have been rewarding myself with food, bad idea, so I need other things
