Hi, I am completely new to this & would love to group or buddy up with others so we can do the 12 weeks together? I have just downloaded the week 1 information and look forward to giving it a go. Alison

Newbie - would anyone like to do the 12 weeks together? Might be good motivation if we form a group?
Hi Alib100,
Congratulations on joining us. You'll find the Monday weigh-in helps to keep you on track and everyone on site will be your buddy and help you along. Any specific questions can just be posted up for answers. I've done three complete weeks now and feel I am making progress. The exercise was hard to do at first because I lacked motivation but I'm into a routine now. The 1400 calories a day can be filling if you choose the right foods and can avoid the tempting nibbles! The good news is that I am six pounds lighter and that is very encouraging.
SNAP! Day one for me too and already feel more motivated than any other diet. I've also just downloaded week 1 and currently working out my lunch calories with the help of the calorie checker. Diet buddy sounds like a good idea
I will join as well as your rogue male - this is like weight-watchers hardly a bloke in sight! I am aiming to shift 24 lbs in the 12 weeks. No more visiting the centre aisles in Waitrose, no more ice-cream - fridge full of salad, fruit and veg. I make a veggie smoothie every day - some are disgusting but do me good I am told!!!!
What do u put in a veggie smoothie never even tried one?!!
Ok - one idle night last year I saw a gadget on Ideal World called a Nutri-bullet which is much better at making smoothies that a blender or whatever. So I got one ( and gave one to my daughter who uses it daily for herself, kids and hubby). Kids aren't so good with vegetables especially green ones so this method allows them to have their greens and eat them without moaning! Anyway I place in the large plastic mug type thing some of the following all raw - mix and match:
lettuce - handful any type; cucumber, choi, greens, cabbage, spinach, leeks,
sweet potato; - one only, avocado skinned
carrots - choped into half inch slices; slices of pumpkin
lime, oranges (all sizes) - whole - with skin but chopped up a tad
lemon - slices - with skin
apples and pears - cored; strawberries, rasberries, bananas, mango, grapes etc
- anything which takes your fancy. I try to get a 80/20 mix in favour of vegetables and have one every day usually when I get home from work. Sometimes I do just veggies and sor just fruit - not too often. It makes about a litre. I fill the mug up to the suggested line with water maybe occasionally also use a quarter mugful of greek youghurt and then put the top on, turn the whole thing upside down and place on the machine. One minute later we have an all-singing-all-dancing smoothie - which is (a) very good for me and (b) tastes pretty good and (c) makes a big hole in my 5-7 a day and (d) as with water fills up spaces in ones tummy so I feel less hungry..I always have a litre glass of water on standby so when I get snackish I drink - it does help.
Have fun - and experiment - it really does taste better than you might imagine. :Lots of greens with 3 or 4 strawbs ( I keep their green tops on) and a banana (peeled) does the busness in style
I'm in as well. Just looked at the 12 week weight challenge today, and have also just finished the 8 week step challenge. Really need to change my sweetie eating habits!
I just started today as well after losing about 10lbs just tracking my food in My Fitness Pal (love how you can just scan things in!). I really struggle with exercise but made a start last night with a free workout from FitStar on my ipad and also track my steps every day. Always hardest at the end of the day, when I get tired my thoughts turn to chocolate.... Good luck (or is that good planning?) everyone
Hi I'll join you all too! Will keep an eye out for you all. I've just discovered this site after trying every other diet going. I'm starting today by aiming to drink more water (I usually just drink coffee) and going for a walk later. Small steps! My biggest battle is binge eating on junk like you wouldn't believe. I'm hoping this will all have a knock on effect and help me kick the habit. Good luck to you all for your first weeks.
Hi Alison I will be starting Monday if youd like a buddy
