What’s your strategy over the festive holidays?

Are you all going to keep logging your foods or just go with the festivities eat whatever and face the possible weight gain in the new year.

I am going to be logging my food :) as it really does help curb over eating - although I know I will go over my calorie count as I plan on having some fizz ;)

I'm with you cracker... at least that's the plan.

Good luck.

Yep it's the plan here to Tiggerr just have to put it into action now ;)

I will be logging all my food as normal but will adjust my plan to account for Christmas and Boxing Day and lowering my calorie intake the rest of the week and hopefully come out with an even balance.😊

Merry Christmas!🎅🎄🎁⛄

That puts you in my saint category. I wish I could be that sensible.

Congrats and merry xmas to you!

Thanks Tiggerr . Been called a sinner many times but never a saint.👿👼😜 Found out on Tuesday how easy it is to slip back into old ways when my friend gave me home made tablet for hubby. He didn't want any so I scoffed the lot and felt awful afterwards as it was far too much sugar. Had to adapt daily calorie allowance all week to accommodate. Lesson learned✔. Just back from an afternoon with family and didn't indulge in any extras so feeling hopeful for tomorrow's weigh in. Lots of photos taken on phone cameras. I don't photograph well and was upset by them even although I have lost 1.5st and feel great so that is an added incentive to stay on track. Sorry that became a bit off a moan.😐 Anyhoo, We had a lovely fun afternoon.

A Merry Christmas to you too and all my lovely forum friends.🎄🎁🎅⛄

Well let me warn others with my salutary tale!

Since September I have pretty much kept away from white carbs, bread, potatoes, pasta rice etc, partly to help weight loss and partly to combat problems with indigestion and acid reflux.

Over the Christmas period so far, I have been very sensible logging everything and keeping pretty much to within my allowance until yesterday. I had a light breakfast, soup for lunch, then I had put on a big buffet tea for family. I had stuffed baked potato, quiche, sausage rolls, salad and trifle. Lovely. ...... until I went to bed. I hardly slept at all, on the Gaviscon all night, sweating, headache, feeling hung over even though I hardly drank!

The moral of this tale is I know I am much better off eating sensibly and healthily. It’s not just for maintaining weight loss, but I just feel so much better when I stay within my limits and keep off large amounts of carbs!

Happy healthy Christmas everyone! 🎅💕

I am the same with this indigestion and acid reflux. The thing is with me I eat something and it's ok then the next time I eat it I have bad indigestion. Some times I thing it would be better if I could survive with out eating. I really feel for you. I know what it is like.

Great question.

I'm going to eat healthy small meals to balance the bigger less healthy ones, and allow myself a good chunk of calories at the snack table daily! I've got a fair few nuts mixed into the treat table and a basket of fruit to alternate with the chocolate!

Good question. I will log my food . I will have my Christmas dinner a little of everything. Also my small piece of Dundee cake with cheese, in the afternoon. I will take my pain killer patch of so I can have a small glass of wine. As I can only go a little while with out on and cannot walk without the pain killer on that will be my only indulgence on Christmas day. that is what I tell myself. As a lot of things upset my stomach I am usually careful and stick to what I now know I can eat. Some times it works and other times it doesn't it is a bit of hit and miss . Hope you all have a good Christmas

I'm going to log everything everyday apart from Christmas day. I'll keep count of what I've eaten but not the calories and I'll only eat what I want - no forcing myself to finish my plate just because I feel obliged to. Because I'm being balanced all of the other days, I think I'll be okay having one day off as long as I don't approach any boxes of chocolates! :)

I have eaten the things I wanted for the past two days but I have also logged them. Interesting outcome. My usual maintenance level iso around 1500 calories a day. But the past two days have been just over 2000 a day. So I will no doubt have gained a bit altho I won't weigh til Friday. But nihil desperandum ... I will now cut back to around 1500 for the rest of this week and my guess is that by 1st Jan things will have balanced out .
