I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
I'm not in a position to comment about the effects of menopause but I can tell you from my own perspective that the added years make it harder.
I've had to rethink portion sizes and you can find out all about that and much, much more by following all the links that Minniewinny's post will take you to.
I can only symphatise! I have always watched my weight but now it is a case of really looking at everything I pop into my mouth. I gave now been doing this for nearly 3 weeks and scales hardly moved down but as long as they do not move up I will keep going. My aim is to STOP any further weight gain as realise how hard it is to lose especially with the medication I also have to take. Friends can lose lbs in one day but I have stopped competing as making me miserable. Eating healthily is important and fingers crossed the scales may eventually smile up at me! Good luck
Hello and welcome. My feeling is that the habits that lead to those extra, resistant pounds build up over a lot of years (more for me than for you if you're at menopausal stage now) so it's about a rethink, being more conscious of what you're eating (all of it, not just the meals) and having reasonable goals. Good luck!
