What tests are important to ask for in helping pin point why I'm gaining weight while being hypothyroid

Unfortunately ewilma26 no one here is trained in medical matters. It sounds like you're aiming to speak to your GP, so I'd suggest asking them the same question.

Hi as Tiggerr has rightly pointed out none of us on here are medically trained

Please speak to your nurse / GP as they will be the best to advise you (I know if I don't want to make an appointment with my GP but require an answer I can ask the receptionist and they will find out the answer from the GP and ring me back, so this maybe an option also )
