Hi McClisa and welcome to the weight loss forum.

Sorry to hear your leg is in a boot for the next 10 weeks, hope you recover well from your surgery. I understand you can't exercise but you will gain a lot of tips and ideas from the forum on healthy eating over the coming weeks.

You are invited to join our Newbie Club, where you can meet other new members who are just beginning their weigh loss journeys too. Here's the link for all the information you will need to find your way around the forum:

Good luck with your first week.

I lost a stone with no exercise so it is possible to get started. It has slowed down a lot so I may have to add exercise but it's a start. Good luck!

Hi McLisa :)

Love the way our minds work formulating excuses (mine is like that as well - it's raining so can't walk, I feel too tired to exercise, it's too early, it's too late lol)

Can you chair dance? Stick some music on throw your arms around and bop around on your bum :) It's fun - I do it quite often. Rock and Roll baby :D

Can you still get down on the floor? Try sitting and holding a ball (basketball or beachball size) twist from side to side and touch it to the floor each time. Or even do it sitting on the sofa. Raise it above your head then see how far to the floor you can get it.

I think we tend to think of walking. running, swimming as exercise but forget about upper body. Maybe check out some upper body workouts online and do the ones that you can.

Any little bit helps.

Good luck McLisa :D
