hi and welcome back Sarahp2008 why don't you download the NHS 12 week plan and the weekly sheets and use that as it really does help to motivate you to stay on track, as well as logging on here and joining in with the Daily Diary
Would you like to join the Newbie Club as a re-start?
Don't quit trying. You can do this...take it one day at a time. Do a 3 day food diary, also record how you are feeling each time you eat. Work out how many calories you need to function each day and then reduce this by 500 (you will lose 1lb per week -15 weeks to lose the 15lb you gained ☺) more importantly log on daily for support.
Hello Sarah,
Sorry to hear about your lack of motivation, it must feel so frustrating to feel like you're stuck in a rut. For what it's worth I'm borderline feeling like that myself at the mo.
Today is your day to change things up and to do things you wouldn't normally. Hidden has mentioned the NHS 12 week plan. You may have downloaded it last time you were here but if not, download it now, read it through, write down the tips etc etc...
What I'm trying to say is imagine you're on day one and don't know anything. As a way of rebooting your brain, start over and be open to trying anything that may help.
I can't overstate how important it is to stay connected to this forum. If you let them, the wonderful people here will carry you through your darkest moments and cheer you through your triumphs.
All the best.
Dear Sarahp2008
Do you remember how good you felt when you lost that 30 lb?
You can feel that good again
Count your calories today and choose the healthy foods you know nourish your body and do you good and when you go to bed tonight you can smile and say to yourself you are back on track
With very best wishes
Hi Sarahp2008, I totally get how you are feeling as I have put on over a stone after losing 4 and feel rubbish, (bad back been start of issue). I am also struggling to find motivation. However, I am back on here will look again at my 12 week plan and tell myself I can do it!! Lets do it! We have done it before so we know we can- good luck!
I too share your difficulties in maintaining momentum on a healthy eating plan. I gained back a stone of the three I had lost when I took my eye off the ball for a while - those old habits of a lifetime are so hard to shake off! I got back into it after a bout of food poisoning (of all things)....some dodgy sea-food; which gave me a "kick-start" and have lost 7lbs of that regained weight.
My trouble is that I now feel well and my clothes are looser and my brain is trying to kid me that I am already there! However, I had a bit of a shock yesterday when my partner took a photo of me out with the dogs...and I saw what was still a very fat woman sat smiling on a rock.
We are in this for life and we might as well live at the correct weight for our height, so let's get back into a controlled eating plan; drum up some enthusiasm for some low-calorie recipes, and plan some active days out, walking, cycling, swimming etc. Get someone to take some photos of you....it helps!
Thank you everyone for the feedback. It means alot. I didn't commit last time I downloaded the 12 week plan but today is a new day and I'm committing! I'm just going to start over and go day by day. I need to use you guys as support when I feel discouraged. Thank you so much for the feedback. Here's to starting over!
