I've been trying to lose weight on my own for a while with limited success. I'm 58 and had to give up work a few years ago due to ill health and the pounds have crept on! I need to take myself in hand and hopefully with a bit of support I'll reach my goal of losing 2 stones.

Thank you! The sun has just come out so I'm going to have a walk, I can't go too far without getting tired but it's a start. :)

Thank you 87down, I had a lovely walk, just need to keep it up now! I always manage to lose a little weight to start off, then get de-motivated and it all goes back on. Hopefully this time with some help I might stick with it. Well done on 3 weeks of staying on track.😁

Hi GeeAyGee and welcome! I am an old returning newbie and was out of work for 3 months due to a back problem. turns out it was not my back but my hips straining under the weight of 268 pounds. I have lost 6 now and will be back at work Monday so I am hoping to continue the weight loss. I have already given up alcohol and put back veggies (no butter) into my diet. I do not call this way of living and eating a diet, simply a better way to live. I have been a member for a long time but leave and come back. I recommend staying and learning and posting and reading and all that good stuff! if you follow the plan, you will lose the weight. it is a good plan, an everlasting plan to a new and better you (and I) with more energy and less depression and all around feeling good about yourself which is what I am struggling with. Chin up! you can do this!
