I am new to this group & have only joined today. I am a mum of 2 kids 3&2 yrs olds. I need to lose weight tho I find it difficult to work out with 2 kids as my husband & I work shift so when he works Im off & Im working he is off so we always have the children ourselves nearly like single parents. So I find it hard to get to the gym tho I do walk our 2 dogs which is a challenge to say the least to get myself, 2kids & 2dogs ready. Would like someone advice on what others do with exercise when thwy cant get out or have short space of time. Thank you

Just joined today too! Want to get rid of some weight and keep it off and get more energy! I know I need to exercise and like you I'm a busy mum but I have been looking at doing a bit of HITT training and just doing 15 mins a session to begin with
It's not always about going to the gym, how about running up and down the stairs a few times every hour? Squats, lunges, counter presses, while waiting for the kettle to boil. Exercise DVD's? Dancing, Wii, hula hooping, skipping, hopscotch? There are dozens of things that can be done in a few minutes, with, or without the kids
I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
I have Pilates mat just do 5_ 10mins here and there. You probably getting quite a bit exercise already running after the children, playing hide and seek, taking them to where m out centres, certainly not sitting down role. Good luck x
Looking after 2 small children and working is a workout in itself as well as walking the dogs
I think weight loss is all about making sure you are not eating more calories than you are expending. As long as you eat less then you will lose weight .
This site shows you how much you can eat to lose weight but it does mean keeping an accurate record of everything you eat
Whatever you do don't eat the children's leftovers!
That is 1 good thing I dont have to worry about kids leftovers they are really good eaters. I would more food than I need as after kids in bed & hubby away to night shift I would sit on sofa TV on & eat junk food which I know is my downside but im shattered after having kids all day cleaning house walking dogs etc just day to day stuff
I was even thinking as I clean the house during the day to leave it until kids in bed then clean the downstairs as my kids go to bed at 7pm as they only 2&3yr old means Im not sitting with nothing to do
Doing housework is every bit as good as going to the gym with the added benefit it's free.
I remember when my children were small and my husband abroad working how hard it was during those evenings not to have a snack or sweets etc I started dress making in the evenings
In those days there were no mobiles or emails but now if you are feeling lonely in the evening you can always pop on the forum to find someone to chat to instead of raiding the larder and fridge
