Adventures in fasting...

After another weekend containing a festival I felt like I should give this 5:2 thing a go.

It went well food-wise, and I didn't feel horribly hungry until about 4pm or so - I even quite enjoyed this morning!

Then - I went to work, where it all went downhill..! Escaped bunnies, cooking an entire box of chicken rather than taking out just the one, leaving the kids school bags at mine when dropping them off, just chaos.

So the verdict is, my body was fine with it, brain - no. Would I do it again? Maybe.

It was hard, but I think a detox day has done me good. :)

Good morning victoria-anne.

I found the fast days got easier over time. I also found that I ate better on the other days. I do still enjoy a pudding occasionally and a biscuit or something like that with a coffee but generally I eat more healthily. I started the 5 2 for health reasons and I got the results I wanted. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Thankyou - I will do it again in a few weeks, that's interesting about finding that you eat better on the other days, I'm going to see what happens today! It clearly worked for you! :)

It's become a way of life for me. I have two days each week when I cut the calories to between 500 and,800 and they are the only days I think about how many calories I am having.

Might be worth thinking about if it meant I didn't have to count calories everyday!

Now that I know what I can eat on my fast days,I don't need to count calories at all. I have tried many diets over the years and this has been the right one for me.

I can't fast and maintain a normal life - my brain fog is bad at the best of times, but when I'm hungry, I'm an absolute nightmare! My hen weekend did not quite go to plan! I accidentally fasted on the Friday when there was a dinner mix-up and then on the Saturday, we'd paid for soup and a sandwich and a scone. But the sandwich turned into a platter each and they were delicious. Then the fruit wine was also really nice and my sister wasn't drinking on the wine tasting tour, so she gave me hers, then I had oatcakes and cheese and THEN it was someone else's 50th birthday, so there was a big cake...

But, I had a blast and the scales are rather suspiciously not showing a gain, which is very weird as I always see a Monday gain, regardless of what I've eaten! How did your festival go? Better food wise than mine I hope!!

No, I don't think I can, either. I am glad I tried it on a Monday, after the weekends high intake, and not on a day I cycle to work.

Oh no! Sorry to hear it didn't go to plan! Though, it doesn't sound toooo bad... oatcakes are healthy ;) A platter sounds delicious right now, too. We brought some sloe gin a month ago, and drank it in two weeks LOL. So delicious.

I think once you are eating healthy, your body can deal better with the bumps in the road. So I tell myself ;)

My food calories weren't too bad - though we had homemade fish and chips saturday. It was all cider.... :/ My weight doesn't seem too bad though, yesterday I was up, but it's gone again today.

We've got carnivals this weekend :D HAHA! The curse of village life ;)

I may also have bought 4 bottles of fruit wine... Luckily they had sold out of their delicious vintage cider.
