We have been talking about getting a dog for a while now but ive been on the fence about it and then the plan was supposed to be next year lol. However circumstances and a moment of madness has given us this baby Chihuahua boy pup. He is really really good and has "fit" into our routines and lifestyle straight away.
He has a pen to sleep in which he loves and goes to willingly when he wants to sleep, rest or chill. During my work hours (20 hrs per week) he seems happy to spend his day nap-time in there. However I don't want to leave him any more hours by himself so I have changed up my exercise routines!
Now in the mornings I go for my morning walk or run at about 6.45am! Instead of after work at 2pm! At that time in the morning the kids are playing with him.
After work I do some indoor aerobics with him running around trying to lick my face lol. Some of my routine now involves shaking and throwing a toy mid-session! And I manage to squeeze in 30 mins of study time.
Later after dinner I do 40 mins on my home treadmill and then lastly I take him out for a 20 min walk (carry). He can't yet go for proper walks and he doesn't like the cold! So I have to carry him in a blanket and under my jacket. When he gets bigger and can walk on the lead outside I will get to include him on more walks.
Going out at 6.45am at this time of year is hard! I miss the sunshine! But its not as cold as it looks once you get out there! I seem to get hot easily when I exercise. I am still wearing shorts for my runs at the moment! Although there is talk of snow hitting Britain soon! That should be fun! (Not!). Lol

Haha he's so small the coats I brought him in XS size are all too big! I've had to make him a coat out of a fluffy sock! I'm not sure I can get hi vis socks?? Lol. Maybe a stripy rainbow one will do? ;D
He is adorable My month old name is Kodu shoert for Kodiak Bear he is a Cheepeake Bay Ret. and now weights 75lbs., got hi at 10 weeks at 13lbs. My husand flew to the jennel in FL to pick him up we live in OH US.. I know your will not grow although puppies are energy so pleased you are enjoying him and adjusting your scheduled. The licks and kisses during work outs are so cute mine have gotten pretty sloppy as he has grown. I use a rawhide often when working out a a reward keeps him busy.
Ooh that's a good idea! He has a bone with a meaty inside to gnaw on when I'm at work which he loves and gives him a work out! I haven't heard of your breed of dog!
Sorry CrimsonMama, my blood sugar was vey low when I replied and was typing to fast to to spell everything correctly. Cody's breed is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever orginal to the states from a poor weather at sea.that put them under. Believe to have started from New Foundlanded male and femake Irish spanials. Males run very large with loving devotion and peronalities. They weretrained for the coldest of hunting in the Chesapeake Bay of the US for duck some retrieving as many as 200-300 a day. Double coated like a duck to protect them from freezing in the ice cold temp's of the waters. Fearless swimmers. Mine just love we live on Lake Erie in OH. My husband does not hunt hunt we are hoping he will sense my seizures last 2 did. Med's have me under stronger control and wear a DEXCOM for my diabetic condition. Do have an a couple of idea's for toys one is a Kog open on both ends with a hole hard rubber, very hard comes in a vaeity of sizes. I put some peanut butter all natural, no additives, no sugar. to the inside not much just enough for play. Dishwasher safe. Give your baby only grain free food and treats. I have this fun spin toy which Cody loves I put his food which are small nibblets and it's like a puzzle for him to spin it around to get one out. Grain free food is the healthest for your pup and dogs of all ages. I'm sure a breeder in your area can recommend one. You sound like a loving devoted mommy enjoy your fur baby!
