So it begins

I just joined today as I'm tired of having a tyre around my waist. I want to lose weight, get fit, and get back to enjoying my life. Any tips, ideas, suggestions are welcome! I'm giving myself 3 months to lose at least 1 stone. Slow and steady wins :D

You have a good goal to work towards in a sensible timeframe.. You will do well - make your plans and stick with it.

Welcome Jax17.

You've given yourself a sensible goal and time span.

The link Minniewinny has pointed you towards, includes the NHS 12 week plan, which I can completely recommend.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome :)

Good luck to you on your journey!

Welcome Jax - have you considered running? Learning to run is the best thing I have have done for many years. I recommend the NHS couch to 5K programme.

I have considered it, but if I'm being totally honest, I dont think I could handle it. My knees would probably just buckle for starters. And then I'd be super paranoid about how silly I look...so I've never really done it.

I think we all looked silly when we started out :-) You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
