I've just joined and want to find the weight oss page. I am old (76) and need to lose one stone. I can only find others' posts but not the actual weight loss page. Can you help? natasha
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI (can be found in the pinned Newbie post) to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for π
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate π
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support - which is great to get ideas of what other people are eating and I have to confess to nicking some of their menu's and our βWhat's happening todayβ thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too π
Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey

Thanks cracker 10. I'm really motovated to find out information and will follow your suggestions.
Hi Emma you have come to the right place there is lots of support and advice here and everyone swaps ideas, recipes etc. I too have a lot to lose I started at 18st 8lbs and am now 41lbs lighter. It is a nice friendly group. Good luck with your weightloss.
Just to wish you well with your diet. Great decision to lose weight as it certainly will improve your health and help your knees.
I had a sports injury to one knee years ago and as I grew older and fatter it hurt more and I became more inactive. It's a viscous circle no exercise leads to weight increase. I recently have been dieting and increasing activity and now walk 10000 steps a day min. I have lost 1.5 stone and become a lot more active and the knee is troubling me less.
It can be done so good luck on your journey to the healthier you.
Hi Em, yes I logged my weight in here last Wednesday as I get home quite late from Slimming World on Tuesday evenings. I've been going to SW since May and last week I was a very frustrating half pound short of two stone so I'm really hoping to get it this week x
Hi. I have Rheumatoid disease in ny left snd right carpel tunnels and in my spine. I had 100% acute liver failure over a year ago. To get better i was pumped with so much steroids..along with the mobility of an 80 year old..I gained 4 stones ontop of my alread large body. I was 17 stones 10lb. I went to Cuba..recovered. . Came back joined a gym in August ..I recommend you do what ever physical activity that you enjoy that gets your core muscles sorted..your posture sorted as all that weight we been carrying means our bones need realigning.. i recomned yoga or pilates or swimming along with sone2thing ths2t challenges your heart muscles you sweat but safely...so i joined the gym and stuck to going 5 days a week and i now go 6 times a week. This helps with ny mobility as i use the ssuna anc jacuzzi every tin5e i go. I met sime great gym INSTRUCTORS who took a passion to advise me on how to change my diet..Donto get me wrong..I welcomed their advice. .if its not for you they don't force the advice on you. . Since doing this for a year and reading the stories of others loosing weight; I use this site along with weight watchers..a I lost over 5 stones. I'm now 12 stones 9lbs and my medication is reduced from 9 tablets per day and obesity injection per week to to two tablets per day and no injections at all by diet..low carbs. .not meat .no fizzy stuff and excercise the bones ..so it's like I'm on a diet to help my arthritis. .but its working. .less pain and size..I gone from a sice 20 to a 14. I work 4 days per week, I use pintrest website for healthy recipes excercise and health tips..never looked back.... I be honest I'm not good at responding to messages quickly as I don't go online daily..it's more of an as and when basis so don't be offended if I take time to respond.
Anyways welcome..keep reading and I hope you will get as much or more than I have from reading other people's journeys or joining in...all the very best.x
Wow! You have done amazingly well! It's so hard to get the enthusiasm when you feel rough! I'm really happy for you!! Thank you for telling your story, I have been reading loads of weight loss stories and they are really helping me xxxxxxx
Hi! You have done so well, how long did it take to lose 25? And are your aches any better? I'm so hoping my knees feel better as it really gets me down. I can't wait to go shopping and buy clothes I like instead of stuff that fits!! Xx
I started my journey on the 26th May of this year.
My mobility has improved a lot. Simple things like walking up the stairs. I've noticed I haven't been getting knee pains, though the foot aches are still there.
