Boring diet still don't lose weight

Hi tomvic,
My advice would be to join in with community life. I think you may need some some guidance with meal planning, so logging onto the Daily Diary would benefit you greatly and maybe joining a weigh-in and a challenge, would keep you motivated?
All the links can be found in Events, or Pinned Posts. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to shout out
So that's what you 'can't' eat. Now make a list of what you 'can' eat. I've found an alternative to chocolate is to have two or three dates. Very sweet and I make them last by biting them in half and savouring the flavour. There are a number of herbal teas out there to try. Be adventurous and try some fruit or veges that you've never had before.
And ask your Doctor for some ideas as well.
Good luck
As a nurse I have seen that list of restrictions before but are you sure about the salt. It never used to be a known problem and would be very difficult to cut out altogether. Yes write a list of all the foods you can enjoy. keep comming back for support. I would say only eat the foods from you enjoyment list. I think it is just as hard to keep eating food that you dont enjoy as it is to stop eating ones you do. So eat food you enjoy. I have found calorie counting with myfitnesspal really helpful as long as you only aim for losing 1 pound per week. Weight loss really is the hare and tortoise race in which the tortoise of course always wins.

Thank you, I guess my biggest problem is I feel a bit sorry for myself and eat too much jam ect when I lose control.
Salt is no good for my memieres disease, so my specialist says.
tomvic,
If you are craving chocolate and on a low salt diet you maybe be low on magnesium and Epsom salts make a great relaxing bath and boost those levels. I have found that has helped reduce my cravings to have the oaccsional dip in it. You might also find overeaters anonymous meetings helpful. there should be one near you. They can help with anykind of food issue and can be really helpful with moody eating. I lost about 10 stone with them and kept it of for over 10 years unfortunatley a thyroid issue led to some weight gain with me.
Also as a nurse I soon learnt how often doctors did not live upto patients expectation as well as nurses and we all get things wrong. I dont know much about memieres desease but I would question any advice that restricted salt big time. It is one of the most common minerals in your body when we sweat or cry we lose lots of it. How is it replaced? and is a small sprinkling on dinner going to make much difference? That is for you to decide and investigate.

Thanks again will try to apply
