Hello toofat4me. I am a 62 year old granny. It does seem to get more difficult as we get older doesn't it? I can't eat a fraction of what I did 30 years ago. So my theory is to pack as much nutrition into as few calories as possible. So I get more bang for my buck because we also need to look after ourselves more at our age.
Apparently exercise boosts metabolism but I am very bad at exercise, a walk with the dog is as good as it gets.
I agree with you Lippysue i am also eating much less than I was, so try to eat 90% of my calories in nutrient dense food
I have managed to boost my exercise a little by getting an exercise bike, it gets a bit dull but I read my phone or watch TV. I have to set quite high these days and can get quite a good burn!
One of my objectives for 2018 is get outside on a real bike 😊
Like your dog picture, is it a springer or King Charles, sorry picture a bit small.I look after two springers but only get to walk them when they sleep over, It’s so lovely to take them on the downs trotting along so happy tails wagging.
Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your first week.
Gosh. another one just the wrong side of 65! I've just replied to Beechnuts who has just re-joined here. It might be worthwhile linking up and working together, as well as with Lippysue . I can see it's going to be a good years for us senior members of the forum.
Good luck, get involved here and share the ups and downs. You'll find it very supportive
Welcome toofat4me yes I think my metabolism has gone AWOL as well. But I have a friend our age with newly diagnosed diabetes she has started walking everyday, just short walks to shops etc. And has lost 2st and been taken off her meds Dr is so pleased with her. There is hope for us all.
That sounds wonderful. My goal is to start walking too! Hope it will help me too!
